Dr. Whaley is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Clinical Oncology Association of Georgia, the Aerospace Medical Association, the Civil Aviation Medical Association, and the National Hockey League Team Physician Society. Dr. Whaley currently serves on the GCS Board of Directors. He is a past board member of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources.
He is Past President of Medical Association of Atlanta, Past Chairman of Metropolitan Atlanta Crime Commission, Past Board Member of GA Department of Corrections, Medical Director of and Board Member for Atlantic American Insurance Company, Team Internist for Atlanta Thrashers.
Dr. Whaley is a Senior FAA designated Aeromedical Examiner and also a consultant to the Air Line Pilots Association, Air Transport Association, and numerous airlines.
