Dr. Garrot received his medical degree from the Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans in 1999. He completed his residency at Louisiana State University, Earl K. Long Hospital in Baton Rouge, LA in 2002, and his fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School in Boston, MA in 2007.
Dr. Garrot has primary interest in the management of patients with general oncology and hematology diseases with emphasis on Genitourinary cancer, Gastrointestinal cancer, and Hematologic malignancies.
He is the Genitourinary Cancer lead physician for Georgia Cancer Specialists where he also serves as the Chairman of the Quality, Research, and Therapeutics Committee. Dr. Garrot moderates the Genitourinary Tumor Board at NHCI and serves on its GU Steering Committee. He is the Principal Investigator on multiple Genitourinary clinical trials conducted through NHCI and has been instrumental in bringing multiple clinical trials to NHCI in recent years. He also serves as the Chairman of the Cancer Sub-committee for Northside Hospital Cherokee.
Dr. Garrot has been very active in the Georgia cancer care community as a current Board member and past President of the Georgia Society of Clinical Oncology (GASCO) from 2020-2022. He is the physician spokesman for Pennies with a Purpose, a local charity which assists patients with financial support through their cancer journey.
Dr. Garrot is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Society of Hematology.
