Dr. Jayanthi Srinivasiah Selected As One of Georgia’s Favorite Physicians

Jayanthi Srinivasiah (Dr. Jay), MDMay 31, 2012 (Atlanta) — Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) physician Dr. Jayanthi Srinivasiah (Dr. Jay) is among the top five percent of physicians nationwide to be honored by Patientschoice.org for making a difference in the lives of her patients.

As recipient of the 2011 Patients’ Choice Award as one of Georgia’s favorite physicians, Dr. Jay was cited for outstanding patient care and expertise as determined by the reviews of her patients.

Established to provide a forum for patients to review of their doctors, Patientschoice.org compiles more than 200,000 reviews each month from around the nation and lists doctors with near perfect stores.

According to the group, while physicians generally receive positive reviews from their patients, “only a select few receive uniformly rave reviews across the board. Only those who have received rave reviews with near perfect scores by their patients are awarded this honor.”

Of the nation’s 830,000 active physicians, only 5 percent were given the Patients’ Choice Award for 2011.

Dr. Jay expressed her gratitude to the patients whose reviews of her work led to the award. “My patients come first in everything that I do, and I’m gratified that they cared enough about me to share their experiences in this way,” Dr. Jay said.

Dr. Jay has been listed in Guide to America’s Top Docs 2007, 2008, 2009, and 2010.

In January, Dr. Jay received a Silver Award from the National Cancer Institute’s Community Clinical Oncology Program (CCOP) for the number of patients enrolled in clinical trials.

The CCOP is a nationwide network that ensures that cancer patients have access to medical care in their own communities. Through the CCOP network, community physicians work in conjunction with scientists to conduct clinical trials supported by the National Cancer Institute.
