Georgia Cancer Specialists Featured in Atlanta Journal-Constitution Life After Cancer Story

ajcGeorgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) was recently featured in an Atlanta Journal-Constitution story about life after cancer. Erika Baube, Manager of Wellness Services, and Kimberly Auriemma, Midlevel Provider, were both interviewed for the piece.

The story featured post-treatment programs, including GCS’s Survivorship program, that are offered to patients after completion of their cancer treatment to help them cope with their new post-cancer lives.

GCS’s Survivorship program involves meeting with GCS’s nutritionists, wellness counselors, and nurses after treatment is completed to give the patient a comprehensive overview of follow-up care and what they can expect over the next several months emotionally, physically, and mentally. 

Baube is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and serves as Manager of Wellness Services for GCS. She has a special interest in caregiver issues, social networks of critically ill patients and their families, and support at the end of life.

Auriemma is a Midlevel Provider at the GCS Kennestone office. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Brenau University in Gainesville, GA. She received her Master of Science in Nursing from Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, GA. She is an advanced oncology certified nurse and is a member of the Association of the Oncology Nursing Society and the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
