Georgia Cancer Specialists, the comprehensive cancer care leader in the state, announced the addition of Dr. Navneet Dhillon at its Canton office.
“We are honored to bring Dr. Dhillon’s years of expertise to our practice,” said Dr. Al Soltan, president of Georgia Cancer Specialists. “Her skills and compassion will enhance our cancer care services at our convenient, community-based setting.”
Dr. Dhillon is board-certified in medical oncology, internal medicine as well as hospice and palliative care. She has special interests in breast cancer and melanoma. Prior to joining Georgia Cancer Specialists, Dr. Dhillon was Assistant Professor at Emory University’s Department of Hematology and Medical Oncology. She also established and directed the research department at a regional cancer hospital in Georgia.
“This is a great time to be an oncologist due to the amazing research and development of newer therapies. We can personalize treatments based not only on the characteristics of the cancer but also on the values and preferences of the patients,” said Dr. Dhillon. “Even though the journey of cancer treatment can be filled with challenges, I consider it a privilege to be part of a patient’s life during such a crucial time.”
Dr. Dhillon completed her residency at the University of Texas Medical Branch and fellowships at MD Anderson Cancer Center and at the University of California, San Francisco. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Association of Cancer Research. Dr. Dhillon is published widely and has presented at numerous national organizations. She serves on several nonprofit foundations benefiting cancer patients and their loved ones, including Camp Kesem and Combat Against Cancer.
Dr. Dhillon joins oncologists Dr. L. Crain Garrot, Dr. Gena Volas-Redd and Dr. Lynn Zemsky at Georgia Cancer Specialists, 228 Riverstone Drive in Canton. To schedule an appointment, call 770-479-1870. Visit www.gacancer.com for more information.
