GCS Physicians Dr. Rodolfo Bordoni and Dr. Mansoor Saleh Presented at the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer in Amsterdam

Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) Chairman of the Research and Therapeutics Committee Dr. Rodolfo E. Bordoni and Director of Clinical Research Dr. Mansoor Saleh recently attended the 14th World Conference on Lung Cancer in Amsterdam, The Netherlands to present a Phase I/II study of chemotherapy with bendamustine and irinotecan followed by etoposide/carboplatin in untreated patients with extensive small cell lung cancer. Dr. Bordoni was first author of the presentation.  This novel trial is being conducted in collaboration with  Dr. Francisco Robert of the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The World Conference on Lung Cancer is one of the largest gatherings internationally of clinicians and scientists in the lung cancer field. With lung cancer remaining the leading cause of death worldwide, the World Conference provides an avenue for oncologists to share the latest information on lung cancer treatment, prevention and early detection.
