The inaugural “Tickled Pink: Laugh for the Cure”—held Saturday, October 20 at Cobb Galleria Center’s Grand Ballroom—raised $75,000 for the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation. Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) and B98.5 FM sponsored the event, which drew over 500 people to an evening of laughter with award-winning comedienne Wendy Liebman.
“We’re proud of the success of ‘Tickled Pink’,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, GCS President and CEO. “It’s thrilling to support Komen for the Cure’s efforts to save lives and end breast cancer.”
Event attendees were treated to dinner and a pre-party reception with B98.5 FM on-air staff, including internationally syndicated evening host Delilah. The evening also featured a silent auction during which guests bid on a trip for four to Turks and Caicos Islands, a pair of tickets to the Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus concert at the Arena at Gwinnett Center, and other items.
Commedienne Wendy Liebman was voted “Best Female Stand-Up” by the American Comedy Awards in 1996. Wendy has been entertaining audiences for over 20 years and has appeared on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, David Letterman, MTV, Comic Relief, E!, HBO, VH-1, and more.
