The 17th Annual Magic of Life Foundation Celebration (MOL) was held Sunday, September 30, at Atlanta’s Turner Field. The event, presented by Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) and the Magic of Life Foundation (MOLF), drew over 2,700 cancer survivors, friends, and family members.
As the largest cancer survivor event in the South, MOL gives survivors a chance to join together and celebrate their achievements and successes in the fight against the disease.
“People are living healthier lives in the face of a cancer diagnosis,” said Dr. Bruce Feinberg, GCS President and CEO. “Their stories are worthy of celebration.”
Dr. Wendy Lenz, Chair of MOLF, was thrilled to see so many survivors, friends, and family members enjoying the days activities.
“What a wonderful showing of hope,” Dr. Lenz said. “With each year, I am more and more inspired by the bravery and positivity these survivors display.”
Volunteers served hamburgers and hotdogs to event attendees. In addition, guests took tours of Turner Field and had access to park activities such as pitching and batting machines.
Dwane Dopsie and the Zydeco Hellraisers, from New Orleans, Louisiana, provided musical entertainment for the event.
