Shirley Valentine’s message is, don’t give up, reclaim your wonder, laugh in the face of uncertainty whenever possible, and be yourself. “Shirley Valentine” makes the message universal; our production makes it specific for cancer victims.
Our objective is to highlight cancer survivors who raise the bar, discover hidden strengths and live life more fully while providing hope for those in the midst of the fight with cancer. By sharing the artistic product of four living artists who have shared that struggle. Above all, we want to emphasize the importance of living life and choosing life even when it seems impossible.
The Magic of Life Foundation sponsors the largest cancer survivor event in the South, giving survivors a chance to join together and celebrate their achievements and successes in the fight against the disease.
offoffpeachtree theatre dedicates this production to the fighting spirits of Elisabeth Andre, artistic director offoffpeachtree theatre; Lorenne Fey, managing director Academy Theatre both presently struggling with cancer and to actor, Lynn Jenson and director, Adriana Warner, cancer survivors who speak the language of hope.
