Weekly Classes to be Held Every Monday Through June 26 at GCS Lake Oconee office at the Cowles Clinic

As a part of its ongoing commitment to educate the public in cancer awareness, Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS), the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast, will hold weekly free health lectures at the Cowles Clinic in Lake Oconee. The lecture series is a part of GCS’s Alive and Thriving: A Community Program for Cancer Awareness and Wellness.

The classes will take place every Monday through June 26 and will feature lectures from GCS physician Dr. Cheryl Jones, GCS nutritionists and wellness coordinators, and Lake Oconee area physicians. The topics will range from general cancer awareness to exercise and nutrition to spiritual and emotional well-being.

“Whether someone has been diagnosed with cancer, knows someone who has, or simply wants to know more about the disease and how to better their chances of preventing it, this program could be a tremendous benefit,” said Dr. Jones.

The GCS Lake Oconee office at the Cowles Clinic is located at 1000 Cowles Clinic Way, Magnolia Bldg, Greensboro, Georgia, 30642. The phone number is 706-454-0159.

All classes are free and last from 2–3 p.m. each Monday. View a PDF of the schedule.
