Georgia Cancer Specialists Continues to Grow and Expand Its Services With New Office in Lake Oconee

Dr. Cheryl Jones to Practice at Cowles Clinic

With the opening of the Lake Oconee office, Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) continues to grow and expand its services as the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast.

Dr. Cheryl Jones will staff the new office, located in the Cowles Clinic, which is now open for patient visits.

“Georgia Cancer Specialists is thrilled to support Dr. Cowles’s mission of bringing premiere physicians and practices to the Lake area,” said Dr. Jones. “We’re excited to offer our state-of-the-art cancer care.”

Dr. Jones is board-certified in internal medicine, medical oncology, and hospice and palliative medicine. She sees patients with all forms of cancer and blood disorders. Her special interests are breast cancer, women’s health issues, cancer rehabilitation/quality of life, and clinical research.

Dr. Bob Cowles, founder of the Cowles Clinic, said, “We’re pleased to welcome Georgia Cancer Specialists as our oncology practice at Cowles Clinic, and to know it will be a great benefit to the Lake Oconee community.”

Dr. Jones received her medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia and has served on the board of directors of the American Cancer Society in Dougherty County, Bibb County, and for the State of Georgia. She is currently on the board of directors for the Susan G. Komen Foundation in Middle Georgia and is immediate past-president of the Bibb county Medical Society.

GCS now has 33 physicians and 25 offices throughout Metro Atlanta and North and Central Georgia.
