GCS Physicians and Employees Appear in a Variety of Newspapers, Medical Journals, and Newsletters

Georgia Cancer Specialists physicians and employees are regularly published in various newspapers, medical journals, and newsletters due to their extensive knowledge in their special areas of interest.

GCS CEO Dr. Bruce Feinberg, who has been published numerous times, said, “Our physicians and employees are often published because they are experts in their fields. The journalistic and medical communities recognize and respect their knowledge.”

Dr. Feinberg and Dr. Richard Leff co-wrote an article that twice appeared in Oncology Issues, a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to serving the multidisciplinary specialty of oncology care and cancer program management. “Integrating Information Technology Systems into a Private Oncology Practice: Lessons Learned,” discusses the development of the personal computer and user-friendly software and how it has revolutionized the way business is conducted around the world, including in the practice of medicine. The piece originally appeared in the July/August 2002 issue, and excerpts were reprinted in the September/October 2003 issue.

GCS Nutritionist Bethany Smith’s health advice is published on a regular basis. In addition to her daily responsibilities at the GCS Cobb, Crawford Long, Douglasville, and Kennestone offices, Smith has become a regular contributor to the Powder Springs Messenger, a tri-weekly newspaper in Cobb County. “Writing for a local paper gives me the opportunity to educate those in the community that I can’t reach on a day-to-day basis in our clinics,” Smith said. She also writes for the Healthy Living newsletter.
