GCS Merges with Georgia Medical and Oncology Services

Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS) has again expanded its services as the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast by merging with Georgia Medical and Oncology Services, LLC. GCS now has 31 physicians and 19 offices throughout Atlanta and Macon.

Joining GCS in the merger will be Dr. William Whaley, who will practice at the Northside, Blairsville, and Blue Ridge offices.

Dr. Bruce Feinberg, CEO/President of Georgia Cancer Specialists, said, “We are very excited about the merger and the opportunity to add Dr. Whaley to our group of talented physicians. His experience and expertise will greatly benefit our patients.”

Dr. Whaley received his medical degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. He completed his residency at Grady Memorial Hospital at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia and his fellowship at Emory University School of Medicine. He is board-certified in Medical Oncology, Hematology, Internal Medicine, and Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Whaley is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Internal Medicine, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the Clinical Oncology Association of Georgia, the Aerospace Medical Association, the Civil Aviation Medical Association, and National Hockey League Team Physician Society.
