Dr. Akbar has over 29 years of experience in diagnosing and treating cancer in a variety of settings. His career experience has spanned from Fred Hutchison Cancer Center in Seattle which is the largest bone marrow transplant hospital in the world to University of Tennessee Medical Center where he served as an attending physician. Dr. Akbar lives in Georgia and has served as a covering physician in many different areas of the state including Warner Robins, Savannah, Columbus, and Valdosta. With additional experience in research, Dr. Akbar has also developed several pilot studies during his career. Dr. Akbar prides himself in providing exceptional patient care and using the most updated chemotherapeutic and immunologic therapies to treat patients.
