Dr. Bruce Feinberg, Dr. Cheryl Jones, and Dr. Franc Wallace of Georgia Cancer Specialists (GCS)—the largest private oncology/hematology practice in the Southeast—recently discussed the decline in cancer deaths rates on three major Georgia news programs.
Dr. Feinberg, President and CEO of GCS, appeared on Atlanta’s WABE 90.1 FM (NPR) January 17 newscasts. “We’re thrilled at the opportunity to educate Georgia’s cancer community,” Feinberg said.
Dr. Jones was interviewed by Macon CBS affiliate WMAZ in a story broadcast on January 18.
Dr. Wallace was interviewed by Macon Fox affiliate WGXA in a story broadcast on January 19.
The American Cancer Society recently issued Cancer Statistics 2007, a report published in the latest issue of the ACS journal CA: A Cancer Journal for Clinicians. According to the report, there were 3,014 fewer cancer deaths in 2004 compared to the previous year, marking the second consecutive year that cancer deaths have declined in the United States.
