The clinical research program at Georgia Cancer Specialists focuses on making targeted cancer therapy accessible to as many patients as possible. With five research sites in Metro Atlanta, Macon, and Athens, GCS patients across the state are able to take part in the trials.
GCS offers clinical trials to target lung cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma, colon cancer, and prostate cancer.
Because of our strong commitment to research, GCS is affiliated with the University of Alabama-Birmingham Comprehensive Cancer Center (UABCCC), making it possible to bring leading-edge cancer care to GCS patients. GCS is the only private cancer practice in Georgia to offer Level I trials.
Dr. Mansoor Saleh is the director of clinical research at GCS and is also a professor of medicine at UABCCC. He has overseen the research program at GCS for more than a decade and monitors trials from our Northside location. Currently, five other sub-investigators oversee the treatment of all GCS patients on clinical trials. Dr. Aaron Alizadeh and Dr. Simbo Aduloju monitor trials from our Stemmer location, Dr. Cheryl Jones monitors trials from our Macon-Coliseum location, Dr. Rodolfo Bordoni monitors trials from our Kennestone location, and Dr. Richard Loyd monitors trial from our Athens location. The research team is comprised of physicians and specialized clinical staff trained in research design, data collection, and analysis.
