Listen to the message

Colon cancer is a preventable epidemic that takes 55,000 American lives each year.

Last week, we discussed your responsibility to get screened every 10 years.

This week lets talk about the responsibilities of your government, insurance providers, employers, and physicians to make the colon cancer screening more accessible and more affordable.

Doing so would save thousands of lives and millions of dollars.

You see, screening for colon cancer is relatively cheap, but treating it is not. In fact, the cost of treating advanced colorectal cancer has increased by more than 3,000% in the last 10 years, and shows no sign of slowing down.

To win the war on colon cancer:

  • Insurers and government must waive co-pay for colonscopies
  • Employers need to waive paid-time-off and incentivise the screening process
  • Physicians need to improve access

American lives, and billions of dollars are at stake.
