Think we’ve hit the wall in the fight against cancer? Think again.

A lot of exciting news was reported just last month when Atlanta hosted the 42nd Annual American Society of Clinical Oncology meeting––the cancer community’s premier educational and scientific event.

Here are a few highlights:

  • Advances in cancer prevention for women, including novel strategies to reduce the risk of breast and gynecologic cancers
  • New detection tools and chemotherapy regimens for three types of blood cancer
  • Dramatic progress in the treatment of kidney and head and neck cancers

Then there’s the news that everyone has been buzzing about: The FDA’s approval of a vaccine for cervical cancer, the world’s second-leading cause of death among women.

We’ll talk more about that next week, but for now, remember that we’ve come a long way in the fight against cancer in the last year alone, and we’re not slowing down.

This is Dr. Bruce Feinberg. Be well.
