Father's Day

This week we recognize dear old dad with Fathers' Day.

When I was a kid, I thought my pop hung the moon.

It was this reverence for my father, and his unqualified love, that inspired me to be the best I could be.

Years later, I became a physician. It was my greatest accomplishment, until I had kids.

Parenthood offers so many gifts. Nothing makes you so proud, yet leaves you as humbled. Nothing makes you feel so secure, yet leaves you as vulnerable.

With all that I've learned from my kids, it's hard to believe that they think of their dad the way I thought of mine. Somehow, though, I'm sure that they do.

Thank you Michael, Rachael, Jon, and Daniel for teaching me humility, patience, compassion, and how to count to 10. And thank you for making every father's day so incredibly special.
