October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to recognize the efforts being made to fight breast cancer through prevention, early detection, and aggressive research into new treatments.
We’ve come a long way since the first awareness month 20 years ago, but there is more to be done.
Here are three important ways women can beat breast cancer.
1) Speak with your doctor about your breast cancer risk based on your family history.
2) Get screened and get screened every year beginning at age 40 in addition to your monthly self exams.
3) Support clinical trials politically, financially, or by participating. Research into new therapies save lives.
